It’s been a few years since I last posted here, and I’ve even pulled my apps from the Play Store. The reasons are deceptively simple: I had a job that made it difficult for me to want to spend time at or near a computer before or after business hours. So my apps and my development skills stagnated; so much so that I didn’t fully fix the problems in Sylence or really update it for use with Kit Kat or Lollipop. In fact, once Lollipop was released, it supplanted some aspects of Sylence. Once Google decided developer addresses had to be a part of their profiles in the Play Store (whether that was public or not), I just went on and pulled them.

But things have changed.

I’m no longer with that employer (in fact I’m not with any employer at this time) and I’m working on sharpening up my skills again. This means resurrecting a project I started 20 years ago and have rewritten countless times without releasing it. This also means revamping Sylence for the more modern era. I’m also trying to learn Android Studio since that’s the way of the future in terms of Android development.

So, stay tuned…!

Oh, and for the record, the project that I had promised as “coming soon” a few years back did actually arrive and get pulled almost right away. It was a live wall paper with a kind of neat idea, but the rug got pulled from underneath it. I have an idea of how to revamp it, but it’s on the back burner for now.
